Take Care Era

March 14, 2011

The drought is over...and Drake breaks it with a mean verse..."Take Care and Carter IV it won't be long till they can see the lights"

May 13, 2011

even though All of the Lights remix broke the drought, this is what really sparked the start of the Take care era ...arguably Drake's greatest hook.Changed Summer 2011 forever.

Short paragraph by Drake + Take Care cover

Image

"Feels like it's been so long. Is life moving so fast in this generation that when we desire something it begins to move in slow motion? Are we just used to getting what we want right away? Or do we require one another to feel right about all that is going on around us? Maybe our anticipation is justified by the fact that we genuinely cannot wait to share a moment again? Either way, your life and mine are scheduled to meet on October 24...I wouldn't miss it for the world.

See you soon.

Drake"

Take care + Club Paradise Tour pushed back...another short paragraph

"The new date for Take Care is November 15th, 2011. I managed to create this album in my hometown of Toronto and the thoughts and stories I wanted to get across just became so clear. It truly felt like when I was here 3 years ago making So Far Gone. So I have completed 19 songs (17 on physical and 2 on bonus), and have run into a roadblock of clearing 3 samples in time to make the October 24th date. My options were to take the songs off and make the birthday release happen, or to take an extra couple weeks to get the paper work right and give you the album they way I NEED you to hear it. The choice was clear as day for me. November 15th you will get Take Care the exact way I created it with no trimmings. This music means too much to me to get attached to dates and I do apologize for the delay but I promise that it is only for the benefit of our experience together. Club Paradise Tour will also be moved to when students are back from the Christmas/New Year break so that I can get to more schools. New dates will be released in the next week...see you all soon.

The moment it all lead up to...leak night. Drake was set to premiere crew love on a radio show late night but it leaked, followed by Lord Knows, and the title track before the whole album leaked. Except for The Ride. The rest was history.

Nothing Was The Same Era

February 1, 2013

The NWTS era begins...and what better way to kick it off than with a classic Drizzy paragraph. Wasting no time, Drizzy drops the 1st single off the album, Started from the Bottom. A track which was confirmed in December of 2012. The first solo material since Take Care

"My good friends,

It has truly been too long. I assume you're all keeping well and making the most of this year that has been given to us. Today is the day to begin sharing my newest work with you. This is the first single off of my upcoming album. I feel sometimes that people don't have enough information about my beginnings and therefore they make up a life story for me that isn't consistent with actual events. My family and my second family (consisting of the best friends anybody could ever have) all struggled and worked extremely hard to make all this happen. I did not buy my way into this spot and it was the furthest thing from easy to achieve. I am proud of every part of my past and I'm excited for this song to find a place in your life as well. I didn't feel I needed any interviews or radio or press to launch this song. It felt right to come back to the site that I started on and release it to the people that started here with me. Judging by this post, the tour that we've been planning, the conversations about new songs and album artwork...I think it's safe to say we're back together again. Looking forward to seeing you all soon.

"You don't have to ask me how I'm doing...just listen to the music" - K.Samir"

I know the NWTS era isn't really over yet, bu I'll update it as videos are released, and so forth. Also, let me know if I'm missing something or got something wrong. This was off the top of my head so i'm sure I missed something. My vote goes to the Take care era. That nostalgia gets to me. I don't think he'll ever top the Take Care era. Classic Era.

TC Era > NWTS Era

Partly cos of what Drizzy said about time markers. But partly because the hype levels and promotion were dope. I just prefer the album anyways because of the feel of it, that moodier slightly ambient feel can't be beat tbh :allears: NWTS a great album but will never beat TC imo :)
