When it comes to artists who really made blending elements of rap and r&b/effortlessly going from singing to rapping?

Drake, Cudi, Kanye, etc. are great and all, but Lauryn in her prime was just as great as they all were. She was the highlight of The Fugees and The Miseducation is IMO a better attempt at a rapper mixing rap witb r&b than any of their attempts, and its one of the best seeling albums of its time to match and she won a lot of Grammys for that album as well

I know her hiatus probably made people sleep on her, but even though they probably werent influenced by her stylistically or musically, I have to admit she was one of the first, and one of the best, at that kind of rap tbh

L. Boogie, the queen of all rap. That one album >> Lil Kim, Nicki, Foxy, etc.

Kendrick, has honored her and her first album.

Kanye: been uninspired since Lauryn Hill retired.

Everyone talks about her as if she's the goat and she has two projects out. What do you mean not enough credit?

Greatest female rapper off 2 albums (Fugees and solo)

She's the Biggie of female rappers and honest probably a top 20 hip hop artist maybe top 10

She was really ahead of her time bruh she could go with anyone on the mic and tjen sing/songwrite with the Mary J Blidges and Alicia Keys

Her Ye Drake and 3 Stacks are in a league of their own tbh

in the "hip-hop community" it is widely accepted that Lauryn Hill one of the greatest female emcees but that shit doesn't matter because she really aint it no more

but people still holds her in high regards

and it's really a generational thing for the most part because she dropped that album in 1998
