If the question is simply, and clearly, who is better lyrically, then Lupe is my answer to your question.

Now, if you agree with my answer, don't read any further. But if you disagree, ask yourself this:

Is Nas a better lyricist than Mos Def?

If your answer to that question is no, then the same thing applies to Lupe.

What I'm trying to say is, don't compare SKILLS of the art. Rap is an art form, lyricism is an intricate skill of the art. You don't have to be a lyricist to be a rapper. Just like you don't need to know how to paint on canvas to be considered a painter; it's just merely a correlated skill that improves the art, but that doesn't make the art itself. Therefore, to ask who is a better LYRICIST, you are not asking who is a better rapper (or who's better at rapping), but simply who writes better rap. And at that, your answer is Lupe.

And another thing, ****** need to man up and understand that people aren't going to say "IN MY OPINION" after everything that is CLEARLY an opinion.  Harden up.  We're all smart enough to tell the difference between opinion and fact.  Hip Hop breeds these debates and most people aren't going to say "in my opinion" all the time to protect ya'll sensitive asses.

With that said Lupe will go down as the GOAT when it's all said and done and is overall most talented MC to ever pick up the mic when you look at song making ability, rhyme schemes, flow, lyricism, etc.

Very well said.  That's basically what I'm saying.  You're free to hate Lupe, think he's boring, think he's whack or whatever, but you're most likely a liar or an ignorant of BOTH if you don't acknowledge his lyrical superiority.
