and FL also has the most/best plugins out of all the programs.

And not because of the sounds. There are other features that should be noted. What I've learned is the most important is that FL Studio is very heavy on the CPU for whatever reason and its project files are very large. Also, the mixing plugins and mixing interfact sucks as well. And don't get me started on input lag.
the plugins dont all come stock... but theres hundreds of them, if not thousands... shit, i never even used all the ones i have. theres too many of them... but clearly you're just not using the right ones.Prince Al said:How many tracks do you mix down on a song? How many virtual instruments you running through that thing? It depends on what you do on it. If you only do drums and samples, of course its gonna run smoothly.
And FL studio definitely doesn't have the best plugins. Neither in mixing or in sound. Reasons sounds are >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I'm not even hating on FL Studio, its an easy to use program and give beginners alot of options for beginning, but there are some other things programs do alot better, so I think if you past the beginner point, you should look towards other options
what? lol most of the sound fonts i have eclipse the quality of the sounds ive found in sound kits... like its not even comparable. most of them match the vsts.Prince Al said:Son, who you tryna call out on using some damn stock sounds? You know you can create sounds using Reason? Probably not, because you don't know who or what you're talking about? Well let me fill you in.
I don't use stock sounds son. I use Reason to create synths for my songs. I usually don't really use synths. Pretty much just piano and rhodes are virtual, but when I have to, I'll do virtual strings. I have Synthogy Ivory pianos, Alicia's Keys, Scarbee Vintage Keys, and Neo Soul Keys, so I only fuck with the best vsts. I also use the grand pianos we have at school, so that's just a matter of mic'ing it and recording it. But I got people for vocals, guitar, bass, flute, trumpet, saxophone, and trombone.
So let me reiterate son, I don't use stock sounds, or cheap sounds. Speaking of cheap sounds, who the hell still uses sound fonts? Alot of those sound as bad as the stock sounds you tryna clown.
your the one catching all the feelings man.Prince Al said:Stop catchin feelings.
i usto be on a site with tons, and tons of producer sound kits n shit... and the .sf2 i found on there were awesome... its not the same garbage u find with a simple google search... also i dont think they were meant to be free.Prince Al said:Soundfounts having sounds as good as Vst's ? Nahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, its not even close bro. You care to show me any decently sounding instrumental soundfont that comes close to a top level VST? I'd have to hear it or try it, because given what I know about instruments and how hard and expensive it is to sample those things, I doubt you can find a soundfont that's of equal quality for free. Its like a 1/10,000 chance tbh. They'd be retarded to give it away for free.
i never said u said u were a pro. but u act like u've been doing this for decades, when your bandcamp says different, its sounds like you're a beginner.Prince Al said:Gonna try and hate on music that hasn't been hated on.... cool story bro. Good job at trying to take a personal shot though.
Never said I was a pro either. Go ahead and ctrl + f that if you don't believe me.![]()
good to know lol u should probly update it.Prince Al said:All of those beats except for one were made within the first 4 months of producing, so I ain't even mad though.
why bother? your responses are more emotion filled than anything he could write.Prince Al said:If this was an essay, then I'd hate to see you have to read shakespeare, lol
tbh tho, this is exactly why i havent been fucking around with any 'producer' software... i find it very monotonous, meanwhile playing a real instrument is fun as fuck.Prince Al said:Nah, I'm working on a big project. One with all of those instruments I was talking about. I'm more of a musician rather than a producer, so its like all of those other instruments aren't my strongpoint. My drums were weak, except only like one on there. I really only like 3 songs on there anyways.
But the whole idea is to record real instruments so I can get a more organic feel. That way, I can stick to composition, and working on arrangement and harmonies rather than focusing on doing it all on the computer.
a bit of piano (im not good, but i can learn songs if i try) and wind instruments... but the guitarPrince Al said:What do you play?
tbh tho, u can mix good, im jelly... i can make some sick beats, but i cant mix worth shit.Prince Al said:Its cause I made the beats in FL studio![]()
haha yeah imma natural on the guitar, never had to really 'learn' how to play.... but i wish i could learn the drums, the bass pedal fucks me up completely.Prince Al said:Cool man!
See, I'm pretty good at the piano, but I suck ass at the guitar. I probably was actually learning within a normal time frame, but I'm too impatient because I'm already good at the piano so I'd rather play that, plus I'm busy with school; so I actually sold my electric
I still kept the acoustic. I can only play Lost Without U and Hotel California on it, lol.
see yeah, me i like chopping up sounds, fuckin around with the drums shit like that, but then EQing = volume leveling lol... i think my problem was i would never EQ it as i went along. it was always too late to equalize certain sounds that needed work individually. i would wait until it was a bunch of sounds meshed together and i'd try and equalize that lol. then i'd choose between terrible mixing, or muffled/fucked up sounds.Prince Al said:Dude, thats funny... because its like 50/50. Either people love the mixing or hate it.
That's because I hack-jobbed that whole project on my bandcamp. See, here's the story:
I was gonna drop the album, and put alot of time into it, but I got burnt out with music, so ended up quiting for like 5 months or whatever. So when I came back, I wanted to start fresh, because I got alot better on the piano, and everything; but ****** was like, we want Castle Music. So I'm like, I'll give ya'll ****** Castle Music alrightSo I rushed this album together.
I swear I mixed tracks 3,7, and 9 in like 5 mins each. Just reverb and compression. Fucking hack job. Track 9, I didn't even do drums on it, lol. Its just a chopped sample.
Track 2 was the first track I ever mixed it, but I'm upset because it was probably the worst mixed track, but I thought it had potential.
But yeah, before I write another wall of text, yeah, that shit was soooo last minute. But I got another project I'm working on this summer, just summer music. Alot of keyboards, rhodes, a few synths, acoustic guitar, maybe some clean electric. Trying to get some summer music out.
