MBDTF was a good record, but it was so clearly pretentious and conceptually flawed that after the first few listens, i found it difficult to listen to it without taking issue...the production is above average but nowhere near the level WTT is on.
WTT is incredibly well-produced, and they have found the perfect mix of catchy, hard rap aesthetic and the artistic and conceptual elements of the music. i firmly believe that tyler, the creator's "goblin" is an instant classic, but i'd go so far as to say WTT beats it by a mile. this is the most solid proof that kanye and jay-z really do put a lot of care and work into perfecting their craft, and that 2011 will be considered one of if not the most pivotal year for hip hop in this decade.
