I want you to forget Cudi said it would be a rock album.
I want you to forget the album is by "WZRD"
I want you to forget the fact that Cudi played the guitar on the album.
I want you to forget about the lyrics.
I want you to forget about the fact that it's not a rap album.



I want you to think of this as the third Kid Cudi album. You can call it AMNS, MOMT3 Cudderisback. WHATEVER.
Call it whatever you want. But don't get so caught up by the title. This 3rd album *insert name here* has all the tracks that were on WZRD. The production is by Plain Pat, Emile, EOTS & Ratatat and there is no specific genre for this album.


Now I want you to listen to the album without caring about anything. Don't worry if the guitar playing is simplistic or complex. Just think of it as your average Kid Cudi project. The aim here is to really just vibe to the music and refrain from holding on to the stupidest things that ruin the listening experience of the album.


A lot of people comment saying "oh he's just using power chords" or "oh that's the just the basic guitar pfffft". WHO GIVES A FUCK? YOU'RE TELLING ME THAT A COMPLEX GUITAR RIFF WILL SOMEHOW ENHANCE YOUR LISTENING EXPERIENCE? FUCK OUTTA HERE. AT THE END OF THE DAY IT'S ABOUT THE MELODY. SOME OF THE GREATEST BEATS//INSTRUMENTALS HAVE THE MOST SIMPLISTIC SHIT IN THEM. JUST BECAUSE CUDI USES "POWER CHORDS" YOU'RE DEVALUING THE ENTIRE PROJECT? THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU? IF YOU REALIZE HALF OF DRE'S FAMOUS PIANO BEATS INCLUDE JUST PRESSING ONE KEY AT THE RIGHT TIME. THAT'S SIMPLISTIC...WHY AREN'T YOU BITCHIN' ABOUT THAT?


It seems that many people are so caught up in the fact that just because they're simplistic chords to play, the music sucks. Well if it was so easy why didn't you come up with the melodies?...... No but I thought it was easy. What happened? Oh it was easy to cover but not discover? Oh okay


Not only are people so caught up around this idea of playing the guitar, you're caught up around WHAT GENRE IT IS. WHO GIVES A FUCK?
SO HE SAID IT WAS GOING TO BE A ROCK ALBUM. If anything it's a FUSION of both ROCK & HIP HOP and that's what I'm guessing he was implying. Maafuckas need to stop acting like Cudi was gonna be rage screaming on tracks, bashing out random fast ass guitar solos or anything else that may be featured in the genre rock.


This album is really in a way a FUSION of genres. Yes, Cudi might've been a little misinforming by stating the ROCK GENRE(my opinion) BUT THAT'S NOT THE POINT. Just the appreciate the music for what it is. I think it's a psychological thing for some or well A MAJORITY OF PEOPLE on this forum. I bet if you thought Emile & Plain Pat handled the production you wouldn't have said SHIT.


Next, to the motherfuckers that called it lyrically weak and they want CUDI VERSES AND RAPS. Ya'll maafuckas are acting like you can decipher anything. If you want lyrically complex verses YOU'RE CLEARLY following the wrong rapper. The only problem with WZRD, fuck, it's not even really a problem....but one thing I can say is that WZRD doesn't reach the depth as he once would with his music. He touches on a variety of themes but he never really DIGS INTO IT which he's done before. That's the only problem I see LYRICALLY. Other than that Cudi still paints a great picture...IT MAY NOT BE AS DETAILED BUT HE STILL COMES THROUGH and once again if you can relate to his music it's even better.


I believe that psychologically a lot of people are so caught up in this idea of it being traditionally ROCK ALBUM. STOP THINKING ABOUT IT LIKE THAT. Just listen to the music as a whole.


A lot of maafuckas be saying "RealRager you're just stanning the fuck outta the album....CUDI LOST" No not really. Yes I'm a stan but I also tend to appreciate music if I really just vibe to it. How can you tell me you don't like melodies for every instrumental on this album? I can understand you not liking a track or two that's fine. That's natural. But for some of you to completely write it off is really just saddening.


Also, don't give me that "he fell off" bullshit. You fuckers are expecting an ALBUM EVERY YEAR. Not everyone has the capability to put out material with such consistency within the frame of a year EVERY. SINGLE. FUCKING. TIME. I mean right after you drop the album you go on vacation, maybe a tour and I mean they're normal people too LOL they're just like us. Sometimes you need time before you get inspired to write some material. It's not easy to just write a bunch of shit. It takes time, you need to motivated and there's a significant thought process involved before writing a track


Do you know why MOTM & AKNC were so nice? It's because he wasn't in a hurry. It's because he had A LOT OF TIME to perfect, to rewrite, to reflect and to critique himself. As a fan I know it sucks to not get new material but if you want dope material whenever it's supposed to come out you gotta give it time. You can't rush quality.

Hopefully after reading this you can approach the album differently and give it another chance. Not just the album but I hope you look at Cudi differently because we don't need a RAGER. We just need someone that takes his time with his work and puts out the material when's confident and ready not because the fans want it or because the label is forcing him.
