A Second Series of The Increasingly Poor Decisions Of Todd Margaret Has Been Given the Greenlight.

The sitcom, which is a co-production between Channel 4 and American network IFC, stars Arrested Development's David Cross as an American businessman trying to sell a dodgy Korean energy drink to the UK market, but finding himself way out of his depth and having to tell increasingly tall lies to try and cover his tracks. The sitcom, which also stars Sharon Horgan (Pulling), Blake Harrison (The Inbetweeners) and Will Arnett (Arrested Development) started life as a Channel 4 Comedy Showcase pilot, and is now broadcast on More4 in the UK.

Although the first series only scored modest viewing figures when it was broadcast in November 2010, IFC has given the go-ahead for Cross and co-creator Shaun Pye to write a second series, with a spokesperson saying: "Todd Margaret personifies the type of offbeat comedy IFC brings to viewers"

David Cross says: "Questions will be answered and secrets revealed all while the mystery heads towards a deep, shuddering, and very satisfying climax. I am excited to continue the story that was merely hinted at last season."

The new six-episode series will begin filming in April, and is set to be shown on IFC in October. A broadcast date for the UK has yet to be set.

WTF* Video: Mad Man Jon Hamm Does 'The Robot' for Todd Margaret

When you've got six Emmy nominations under your belt and a Golden Globe on your mantle, you're allowed to get silly now and again - and that's just what Mad Men's Jon Hamm does during his upcoming arc on The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret.

In this clip from Season 2 of the IFC comedy, Dave (played by Blake Harrison) is trying to trick Todd Margaret's boss (Will Arnett) into thinking he has a cell phone tracking device. That's where Hamm comes in, playing himself and offering his best (meaning a not very good) impression of an electronic doohickey.

Todd Margaret, which was created by and stars David Cross (Arrested Development) as the titular energy drink salesman, returns Jan. 6, with Hamm set to appear in five of the six new episodes. Hamm of course is no stranger to bringing the funny, having hosted Saturday Night Live more than once and "backed it up" for Betty White in a memorable 2010 Emmy Awards segment.

The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, created, written by and starring David Cross (Arrested Development, Mr. Show) follows the American bloke Todd Margaret (Cross), a compulsive liar lacking any sense of good judgment who finds himself in London heading up the sales office of a new energy drink, Thunder Muscle. The show also stars Will Arnett (Up All Night, Arrested Development) as Todd's boss Brent Wilts, Sharon Horgan (Pulling) as Alice, the uninterested object of Todd's affection and Blake Harrison (The Inbetweeners) as Todd's mysteriously devious sole employee, Dave. Special guest stars this season include Jon Hamm (Mad Men), Amber Tamblyn (House), and Russ Tamblyn (West Side Story). Co-written by Shaun Pye (Extras) and Mark Chappell (Hu$tle), season two of the IFC original comedy series premieres Friday, January 6, 2012 at 10:30pm ET/PT (immediately following the second season premiere of Portlandia) with six all new, half hour episodes.
Any one else seen this? I just started watching this week and it is funny as shit.

One of the best but least watched comedies when it made its debut on IFC in late 2010, the series was created by and starred David Cross, who also co-writes the episodes. Both endearing and ridiculously funny, Todd Margaret is about Todd who leaps at and lies to get a job selling an energy drink called Thunder Muscle to citizens in England.
Lying, in fact, is a Todd Margaret specialty. (Not really) He’s compulsively and unbelievably lying to everybody about everything, which frequently means Todd is spinning out of control in situations that are cringe-worthy, embarrassing or just flat out sad yet highly hilarious.
The show co-stars Will Arnett (Up All Night, Arrested Development) as Todd’s boss Brent; Sharon Horgan as Alice, a café owner who suffers the unwanted attention of Todd; and Blake Harrison (The Inbetweeners) (The Smartest of the Show) as Dave, who joins Thunder Muscle as Todd’s local assistant but proves, in a clever twist this season, to be someone completely different, giving credence to his description as “mysteriously devious.” (Jon Hamm guest stars as someone who, um, works for Dave).
Sharon Horgan plays Alice Bell
David Cross plays Todd Margaret
Will Arnett plays Brent Wilts
Blake Harrison plays Dave

Underrated as fuck.
