damn crazy episode. i thought for sure Opie would end up being Jax's VP. on another note, was that Juice that was shot at the whore house when it was raided by the fuzz?

also damn I just realized Opie is the only one in the club Jax could genuinely just fully talk to/be himself with. man I think we're gonna be surprised how much he'll change now without him

this death was perfect/essential

the more i think about it, the more i agree with this. jax's character is gonna be real interesting to watch. also i was thinkin, i think opie sacraficed himself cause jax told him everything about clay and opie knew that jax will kill him in the end.

I just felt like opie the type of character that doesn't die or dies in like the final season.

i really thought he was supposed to end up being jax's vp.

so a theory I've been nursing for a few seasons, no real evidence other than my gut, is that Clay could turn out to be Jax's real father

this season I've had a little justification - if Clay is behind the break-in's, the one thing he mentions being gone from the safe - and that they make a specific point of briefly showing the nomads having - are birth certificates

could be proof that he and Gemma had birthed Jax in an affair

after all, John did express knowledge of their desires in his letters before his death, making it possible

there's also the fact that Clay still calls Jax "son", even with them being essentially all out enemies at this point

it would also create crazy parallels between Jaxx and Tara lying to Abel - a decision they specifically made a big deal out of last episode

just some thoughts.

probably unlikely and yeah it goes against the Hamlet influence but Sutter has been saying it's only partially inspired by Hamlet

tbh it'd be a great twist on the story any way, the son building towards avenging his father and it turns out the uncle *Is* the father? bawse.

interesting. to play devils advocate to this theory, they do have people tell jax how much he looks like his father numorous times in this show. but if there is one thing i have learned with this show, its that you never know what way sutter is going with it.

one of my favorite things from the new season. the opening narration in the premeire gave me goosebumps

i still think the whole show is building toward jax taking out clay and tara taking out gemma, but i dont think that would happen til the last season. i agree with whoever said gemma is definitely more involved in johns death than is being let on. without clay this show is just jax aimlessly trying to right the clubs direction.

You have to separate your bias from the character though.

I mean I get it, you love Clay. He's the primary reason you like the show. However, given the plot they gave him - and EVERYTHING he did, there is just no logical reason why he's still alive. No way. The whole IRA only working with Clay is such a plot contrivance.

Plus honestly, at the point that Jax takes up the President spot, and has no intention of getting out - why does he even care anymore about the Gun deals? (He only wanted to make the deal so he could make fat cash, and then peace out. But now that he wants back in the game to avenge John Teller, and save the club - working with the IRA doesn't even make sense at this point).

There is just too many character conflicting moments. And it makes no sense why Clay is walking around freely, given all the shit he's done. I can't buy it. It really ruins the show for me.

And again - not saying anything about the character. We can argue all day long about the character. I'm speaking purely on how the show was written, and the plot he was given.

before this season started, i wasnt digging the way they were forced to keep clay alive. however, this season has been going in so im alright with it. it will be interesting to see where he is taking it.

great episode. i thought (and still do) that tara is gonna blow otto. also, i just dont see how clay lives past this season. although im pretty sure i said that last season too.
