Listen to a lot of producers and how they flip the samples, a good sample producer knows how and when to do transitions. You should always sample larger bars then when you get really good, you can chop extremely small notes.
Don't do the obvious which is sampling the first 16 bars and looping it down
i sample like a mofo. i started by going thru whosampled.com and studying all other peoples samples.
then, i tried to go and recreate them almost using the same song they sampled.
then i branched off into sampling other songs by the same artists they sampled.
and now i just sample the most random shit.
from hanson to the isley brothers.
