First off I'd like to say I'm a HUGE Killers fan (hence my username) and I've been listening to them since Hot Fuss came out. I actually found out about them from a girl I use to work with, she brought me in a CD full of their unreleased stuff and I just went from there. Anyways, I hope you will give their music a listen if you haven't already!

BIG FAN of Day & Age.

that album got me listening to the Killers and their old albums
I love that album too.  If I had to rank them I'd go Sam's Town>Day&Age>Sawdust>Hot Fuss.  I actually didn't even listen to Day & Age until this year.

tbh, i was smoking a L one day in my car and suddenly my friend put this CD on and when Losing Touch came on, i was dozzzed off.  Thats when i started listening to Hot Fuss, Sam's Town and Sawdust ( least favorite album)

but yeah whenever i blaze, Day & Age comes into my mind in heavy rotation

Haha can't say I've ever smoked to The Killers music but I can see how it would be a good choice.  And yeah seems like Sawdust is usually everyone's least favorite album.  It's basically all B-sides and rare tracks remastered, so it's not a  "traditional" album.

Saw them at Lollapalooza 2009, they were incredible. Love every one of their albums. My favorite though is without a doubt Sam's Town.

how is brandon flowers solo album ? i've heard mixed reviews
I loved it.  There's 1-2 weak songs on it but over all it was great.

He just wanted to experiment, he didn't leave the band or anything.

so is he doing all the instruments himself or is he doing the same thing with another band that he could have done with the other killers members?

No, I'm sure he hired people to play instruments for him.  I know he had Ronnie do a few of the drums on the album though.

I've only listened to Hot Fuss and a couple tracks off of Sam's Town.. What am I missing out on..
I would suggest you listen to Sam's Town as a whole then move on to Day & Age.  If you like both of those try Sawdust.

sam's town is my favorite record. i bought it about a month after it came out on a whim and have been hooked since.

many fans look down on it though. it is probably because it is a bit of a departure from their first album in the overall sound.
