Im baffled by how big of a deal the whole Cliff Lee things is. He's only lost both the World Series he's been a part off and the year after he won the Cy Young he was sent to Triple A. Last year he was unreal with the M's and then as soon as he was traded to a good team, sucked for the rest of the season. Dont know why his inconsistancy and inability to win it all is worth 140mill but then again im not a MLB GM...

He got sent to Triple-A the year BEFORE he won the Cy Young.

his control is amazing, days he pitches  are pretty much off days for bullpens, he barely walks anyone, and check his postseason stats
Giants beat him twice in the WS. Timmy has 2 Cy's and a ring. im not comparing their skills, im just saying that Timmy has had a better career so far and Lee chokes in the playoffs

Lee chokes in the playoffs? Because he lost two starts this year in the playoffs? Before that WS he had one of the best playoff ERA's ever? So he had a rough WS as did the Texas offense. He is worth 140 million for sure.

You act as if Cliff Lee is a human gas can in the playoffs smh. I'd say he is pretty decent lol

fair enough, but you can agree to say that his team chokes in the playoffs

and he's still not worth that much. look at Barry Zito, when he was at his prime after winning the Cy Young and having great seasons going to the playoffs and whatnot...you could say he was similar to Lee at the time. and the Giants bought him for $126 million. he was never worth that much, and it fuckin showed

Well Texas had a massive cool off offensively in the World Series, Philly did as well after winning game 1, etc.

But to say he himself is a choker is ridiculous. Giants had the amazing confidence after beating him in game 1 and also by beating Halladay and Oswalt in the previous series.

Cliff is probably one of the 3 best pitchers in baseball along with Lincecum and Halladay
