The Music - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Music

If it wasn't for their band name, they would have been huge (they just broke up). They're a from Leeds in the UK and they made three albums, plus quite a few B-sides. Definitely a band I'd highly recommend for everyone. Very underrated.

Other bands:

- M83
- The Naked And Famous
- Foster The People
- Friendly Fires
- The xx
- Tame Impala
- Passion Pit
- The Drums
- MGMT
- Cut Copy
- Gypsy and the Cat

Just additions to what everyone's already posted..

The Walk Up, The Ramones, The Smiths, Citizen Cope, Joy Divison, The Strokes, Interpol, Yo La Tengo, The Replacements, Sonic Youth. Death Cab(even though I don't think they're all that), Elliot Smith.

My favorite from recent years.. Low, Grizzly Bear, Dispatch, Shins, Broken Social Scene, Phoenix, The Antlers

Neutral Milk Hotel too. They have a tiny catalogue, but they made my favorite record on the 90s.
