Ye must have sniffed a whole ki making that shit. I can picture him at the computer wit some big ass red eyes looking all strung out, adding and removing tiny little layers and sounds over and over.

"Play it back, but wait 3 more seconds before the fade to the right"

it was done that way on purpose.
Why would Kanye intentionally mar what is otherwise an amazing album? Something like Swizz's chorus on So Appalled is an artistic decision. Over compressed songs, inconsistent vocal levels, and small skips throughout the album are the result of poor mastering.

Where is Ivy Crimson when you need him?

It was overproduced entirely...

you really think so?

I think its pretty lean production wise.
Basically the volume levels were put too high on tracks. This ruined the audio by destroying the sound waveforms. There are audible flaws such as heavy clipping on the release. It's one of the worst sounding albums I've ever listened to.

lol i did the same.... didnt notice shit. i have dre studio beats. people bugging.
It's in the Nikki part.. Listen to vocals.. U'll hear it..
It's difficult to explain. But listen to both albums with a good pair of headphones and you will tell the difference. For instance, Dark Fantasy. After "Can We Get Much Higher" you expect the beat to come in and hit you hard, but its....underwhelming. Actually, the whole track (mastering wise) is underwhelming. The levels should be a lot better. It's a shame because the production is great. Same with Lost in the World. I really hope Mike Dean re-masters it because it's a crime what was done to MBDTF.

And for you stans, someone criticizing the way MBDTF was mastered doesn't mean they're criticizing Ye's work.
If Mike Dean remasters it, you'll be able to tell the difference on certain songs trust me. Great music, just sloppily mastered

people said the mastering was bad. i cant even fucking tell LOL
When you listen to it on loud speakers it gets really distorted

A good mastered track isn't just blocks of sound. Ergo some of MBDTF is mastered badly,
See less See more
I already analyzed Monster, and it clips over 60,000 times
See I don't think such awful mastering is by accident. Its got to be like that on purpose, someone as anal about perfection like Kanye West wouldn't allow his magnum opus to sound so compressed and clipped.

Still a fantastic album, however.

first 6 seconds of mbdtf and there is a skip, how is that GOOD mastering?!?
that has to do more with the mixing
