How is it bad?

The beat is pretty minimal, kind of like a poppier Neptunes, but it's not anything bad. Frank's hook is pretty dope. The verses are real shit too, not corny at all and Ye and Jay sound pretty natural on it (coughLIGHTERScough). Ye's verse on here has real nice deep storytelling, boastful shit and confessional shit. The pianos are real nice. Jay's verse was nice too, talking bout his family and his rises to fame, above average fo sho. The louder effects at the end are nice too.

Why the hate?

brutally corny, Jay's verse is actually very good, but its hardly worth waiting through the christmas carol

How, exactly? It's not corny at all.

Corny:

- Anything Eminem has put out during 2010-2011
- Lollipop by Lil Wayne
- Lift Off
- etc...
Song isnt corny its really good, maybe the least awesome track on the album, but i love the message dont understand the haterism on it.
I like it.
Only corny thing is the production, which is enough for me tbh. Hook is decent and verses are meh.

This tbh I actually skip it now. Before I would listen to it and think it would grow on me.

It is corny imo

All the stuff on your list isn't corny its just bad, except Lift Off which was okay. Imo the hook sounded like a song they would use on a kids movie on the Civil Rights Movement. The beat and Ye's verse were okay but the beginning of Jays was cringe worthy:

I pledge allegiance to my Grandma
For that banana pudding, our piece of Americana

I mean it was a nice feel good track for some but for me it was just kind of hokey

Summed it up. That's basically it.
Oceans gayasfuck hook ruins it for me, too preachy an shit, good verses tho, I'd give it a 6
inb4SWEEETBABYJESUS
It just doesnt feel on the level of the rest of the album to me
ocean sounds good on the hook but i also find it exremely corny and annoying... i like the beat and jay and ye are both good but just hearing sweet baby jesus over and over again bugs me for whatever reason..
It's good for what it is. A nice, sweet, feel-good track. Fits perfect with the flow of the record.

Plus Frank on hook duty >>>>>>>>>>>>> sweet baby Jesus :datass:
