Running outside is way better. Op you probably don't like it because it's harder than running on the treadmill. It will build more muscle than running on the treadmill and you can actually see how you are improving when your run outside. Think of it like this...if you run on a treadmill, the belt is doing all the work..your just lifting your legs. Outside you have to push off of the ground to gain momentum.

tbh.

Might as well do this if you're not gonna lift weights

unless he can adjust the incline.. then he can "simulate" the pushing off effect.. i rather run outside too doe, treadmill is too boring and monotonous.. and makes my shins hurt more tbh

what are some tips for this? how much should I run/walk each day to lose weight?
Run every day for 30 min, aim for a run of 500 cal a day. Every 100 cal go up a speed (ex. 1.0 speed go up to 2.0) the last 100 cal go full speed. drink lots and lots of water! how much weight are you trying to lose? and how much you weight right now?

Don't listen to them OP. Talking about selling it and getting a gym membership.
If you use it enough, it'll cost less than a gym membership would.
Also, it can be hard to find somewhere to run outside.
I run 6mph for an hour, every other day.
Get running shoes too.
Mix it up by working out other parts though.

Cutting down on the food & jogging/walking everyday will surely help
This is all you have to do tbh. Start with jogging for a while and gradually increase your speed/time (Do it once your body starts to get used to the speed/time you've been doing) and change it up every once in a while (High Intensity Interval Training in particular).
