Love him or hate him Chance has been making big waves in this here music shit since about 2013. Industry Plant or not (I personally do NOT believe he is one) he caught major traction with his 'mixtape' Acid Rap. It would be a few more years before we finally get a follow up 'mixtape' which manifested to be the not as critically acclaimed Coloring Book.

Personally I like both projects. Acid Rap more than Coloring Book. And yeah 10 day is there too but I don't listen to it at all. Digressing despite 1 mixtape being basically forgotten, the other being deemed a classic by many, and the other receiving mixed feedback, Chance has been labeled one of the future leaders of Hip Hop who would bring much needed substance back where currently we are over saturated by a bunch of late 90s/2000s babies who all get high off Flintstones vitamins & WD-40.

It would once again be quite a hiatus before we get another project from Chance, but we finally got his 'debut' album The Big Day. The album was negatively received by many people. Notably Anthony Best Teeth In The Game Fantano giving it a 0. Even if his reaction to this album was indeed genuine it caused a lot of people to hate the album just because of the review and no other reason. I personally did not like the album either but i'm still checking for and hoping Chance will drop something better next time.

My question is did The Big Day and Anthony's 0 meme put a stain on his career he wont be able to remove and will it overall diminish the legacy he has been trying to build?

Anthony took a hit from the WD-40 a few years ago when he decided to give my hero Kid Cudi a 0 but despite this Cudi's legacy didn't get memed. Cudi is stronger than ever putting out amazing content and its very rare to hear people still bashing SBTH in casual convo about Cudi.

Im curious if Chance will avoid longterm hate or if his reaction to all of this and him just being a dick in general will cause people to continue to meme him no matter what he does now. When it's all said and done will people still look at him as an amazing artist or a clown.

No.

he still has 3 very good projects and he can still salvage his shit by coming back and dropping a good album

it will be difficult for ppl to take him seriously after this but he definitely has the talent to pull it off imo

p sure artists are allowed to drop bad albums here and there
Yeah but other artists dropping bad albums aren't being made out to be complete laughing stocks way after the fact. Everyone is allowed to have a miss but I notice people are more stuck on this miss than most.

No... he’ll be fine.

People will come around to the album. There’s good music there

That knee jerk reaction by the critics  was uncalled for but I think when casual listeners

Check it they’ll like it.
