Too much expository dialogue for my taste. For how intelligent critics made it seem, it was still a film that kind of assumed it's audience couldn't fill in the blanks.

I know exactly what you mean but at the same time I don't blame Nolan for assuming that the american audience wouldn't be able to follow this kind of narrative (it's a very simple one that's been blown out of proportion). Hollywood blockbuster crowds don't exactly look to push you to actually pay attention to the story of a film.
