Kanye to The banner

I'm sort of confused on how we're supposed to tag "Mercy"...

The song is credited under his name, yet he is not the highlight of the song and his verse is arguably not the focus of the track.

Back once all the G.O.O.D. Fridays finished comin' out, I collected them all together and credited the album to "G.O.O.D. Music." I'm inclined to do the same for the song and any others we might be getting until the album drops.

Do y'all think this will be a compilation album in the vein of 'Roc La Familia,' which really was a showcase for the whole Roc label but was tagged as an actual Jay-Z album? Or, credit-wise, one more like the "We Are Young Money" album, where the LP's credited to an entire collective and not just one sole artist?

Cuz iTunes doesn't have the "GOOD Music" artist in his database and Ye/Def Jam probably sent this as a Kanye song

Hmmm, I suppose that makes sense.
I'm not about to act like I know how iTunes actually works so I'll take that.

:kanyeshrug: that's just my opinion, and maybe the album will be called "Kanye West presents: G.O.O.D Music" :kanyeshrug:

Yeah, I suppose having Kanye's name on it isn't a bad thing.
I'm sure hip hop fans have a good idea of what and who all's in G.O.O.D. Music, but having Kanye's name in that title and on front of the album will probably help with it sales-wise from the perspective of the casual consumer.
Artist: G.O.O.D. Music
Album Artist: G.O.O.D. Music
Album: Whatever the album's gonna be called.

Sounds good (lol!)
That's how I tagged up the Good Friday tracks.

LMAO! How'd I miss this.
Well how I see it.... imo...

This isnt really a kanye song. Its a G.O.O.D music colab song. As in the original artwork shown the names in order of "BIG SEAN PUSHA T 2 CHAINZ KANYE WEST Kanye being on the end. What im thinking is, Kanye knew that this song isnt about him/wasnt really his, so he put his name on the end to put more ownership on the track for the other rappers, which imo, the order listed in the original artwork is the order of ownership of the song.

Now, On the Itunes main page, they flipped kanyes name from the end to the front, just for shear marketing purposes. I mean, if i knew this was less of a kanye song, i wouldnt of bought it (if I was one of those people who buys all their music off itunes), where putting Kanyes name first gives him clear ownership of the track, aswell as the fact when you click the song, all the related content is Kanye West Stuff, because it is a "Kanye West" song - as it listed Mercy (feat. Big Sean, Pusha T, 2 Chainz) - Single under Music > Hip-Hop/Rap > Kanye West

I STRONGLY belive this will be labled as a Kanye West LP ft. G.O.O.D, just like Roc La Familia (Dynasty). Primarily due to the fact that In terms of Mainstream, which is going to be the albums focus, Kanye's name is more reconizeable than G.O.O.D music. Just like ALOT of ppl didnt know WZRD was a Cudi album because it wasnt under his name.

That really does make sense, too, and I kind of came to that realization as I was typin' up this thread.

Probably why the YMCMB album and Bad Meets Evil EP didn't fare too well on their own in sales at first.
