They were famous in Hamburg, Germany by playing in in the Red Light District before they were famous in Liverpool, England, even though they were from Liverpool. Only the best bands make it out of the UK and into the US. There were only 4 major record labels at the time and no indie labels.
In the US, Beatlemania
30 songs in the Top 40 hits on the Billboards.
Their first album in the US went number 1, and each album that followed replaced it at number 1.
12 #1 hits.
