Can't think of a perfect example, but like, with girls I guess, I always feel that most of the traditional ways to pickup girls or get their number or whatever is too see through and transparent and they'll know what I'm doing. I just find a lot of things corny, I guess. I feel like people can always see my ulterior motives because I'm really good at seeing other people's.
On the outside, you would never think I'm this way, so I can definitely see how everybody is like this to a certain extent. I wish I could phrase what I think and feel better about this, but I'm unable to.

well the reason people are successful in say 'picking up women' for example is even if the women see what youre doing, you are confident enough in yourself to try it. just because they see it doesnt mean they arent flattered.Ether said:Feel the same way. I feel that, it's just I'm such a cynical person, I kind of shoot myself down beforehand with that type of stuff. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's not like I can't get women or I'm drowning in women, but there's just certain things I can't do because I'm "too aware."Minor Threat said:well the reason people are successful in say 'picking up women' for example is even if the women see what youre doing, you are confident enough in yourself to try it. just because they see it doesnt mean they arent flattered.
well really man all you gotta do is strike a conversation and get their number. people complicate things, but if shes interested youll know it. women do the choosing and you just fish.Ether said:I feel that, it's just I'm such a cynical person, I kind of shoot myself down beforehand with that type of stuff. I feel the same about American patriotism.Free bands said:spot on with how I've been feeling as of late. Haven't been to the movies in months because it's all forced garbage made to appeal to the masses. It's like 90% of the people I see now don't even realize how badly these big businesses are taking advantage of them. Almost wish I could accept the subpar lifestyle everyone seems to live. It's like everything is corny to me now and people aren't even trying to use their minds.

I think I've become disillusioned with capitalism and commercialism.
i agree, except I feel like we need patriotism, but in the theme of what this country was actually founded on, which is what so many are quick to denounce as "socialism" and "wealth distribution" now. Again, thoughts hammered into people's heads by the wealthy and stupid. It's like it's frowned upon to use your money to help less fortunate ("lazy" if you ask half the country) now a days.Hendrixforpope said:I feel the same about American patriotism.
