Aubrey sell out not B.O.B. or even Cudi.
How exactly did Drake sell out? lol. He's basically been making the same music since his first mixtape just on a much grander scale.Nothing has changed much for him musically. I am happy for BOB success but it's CLEAR AS DAY that his album was a product of his label and not the man himself. I don't know anyone that can listen to some of his earlier work and then his album and tell me that is the same guy because it just isn't. He's making his money and i'm happy for that but I wish it didn't have to be at the expense of his music.Marshall Mathers said:Aubrey sell out not B.O.B. or even Cudi.
Stoned. said:His album was obviously crafted to be a commercial success. Even though there were good songs on it. I think all artists make records to sell. But his was crafted to sell. You could see it didn't come naturally. Haley Williams, Rivers Conwhatever, T.I. and Bruno Mars. Song with Paramore's lead singer? Song with lead singer of some shit band that people like? and Bet I with T.I.? That song is so fake.
ryan2611 said:i used to love B.o.B. Until every fucker with a radio did. It annoys me so much to see how far he has come and what he has done. When i listen to "Hi my name is BoB" or any of his other mixtapes, even the "May 25th" one i realise that Atlantis has killed an artist. His new songs are crap compared to wonders like Room 34, Generation lost and many many more. Sure there are some good songs on the album, airplanes pt 2 the only real stand out. But he even killed his older stuff, ruining lovelier than you, with possible the worst verse i have ever heard b.o.b spit.
I don't have anything against poopy, guitar playing pop rap. but he over does it, and its is so blatantly done for Radio. The turning point for me is when my 50+ boss turned round and declared 'Nothin' on you' as her favourite song. i was like WTF! B.o.B has so much talent and had so much promise, i remember listening to his mixtapes in my first year of college, and where im from to even have a mixtape is odd. I tried to make people listen but they refused now people are telling me to listen to this bobby guy -.- but thats besides the point, i'd be overjoyed if B.o.B got famous and recognition for HIS music, but this isnt HIS music, this is what Atlantic want him to produce.
Yes, everyones favourite label Atlantic. Where they failed with Lupe they succeeded with B.o.B. No wonder Lupe turned down so mny future B.o.B songs. he saw what was going to happen. and its sad. hopefully B.o.B can turn it round wit a rap album to the level he is more than capable of. and lets just pray that Kid cudi doesn't fall down the same hole.
I hope you guys get where i am coming from, as radio is murderer of good music. with Atlantic its bitch.
wat said:He sold out. Cudi will as well. Lupe never will.
Hopefully he comes back though with quality music like his mixtapes provided, on an album level. There was a point where his album was top 5 anticipated for this year, but after it i felt disgusted. I was disappointed in him, and lost a lot of faith, but listening to his old shit makes me hopeful.
Generation Lost is still the best song he's ever done, and I really hope he listens to it and remembers what he stood for.
He wasn't underground he was unknown. His music has been EXACTLY the same. Same concepts, same contents, different beats, bigger audience. He's been pop it's not like he was making records about the govt or something and then decided to change it up once he got one. He's been making the same records he's making now for 4 years now lolMarshall Mathers said:Aubrey was underground (mixtapes, ...) now he is just poppy
Well, that was convincing. lolMarshall Mathers said:Aubrey was underground (mixtapes, ...) now he is just poppy

I agree, however, when you listen to a song like Magic, you can't help but feel like its a product of the record label/industry, not truly from B.o.B.UltraKid said:B.o.B. did not sell out...his style has always had a Pop vibe to it...he never had an Underground or backpacker style to him...He sang and he rapped before he was popular....the problem is that you guys hate him now that he's popular...You guys are the kind of people who support your favorite artist up until' they actually make it because once their popular you have nothing to fight about anymore....
which explains why i still love kanye and cudi... no its because his singing songs before atlantic had substance, now they just the 'magic'UltraKid said:B.o.B. did not sell out...his style has always had a Pop vibe to it...he never had an Underground or backpacker style to him...He sang and he rapped before he was popular....the problem is that you guys hate him now that he's popular...You guys are the kind of people who support your favorite artist up until' they actually make it because once their popular you have nothing to fight about anymore....
