Everyone knows him and judges him for "I Love College," which was a fun Summer single and for his first effort "Asleep in the Bread Aisle," which was okay. The album still had some good songs that showed his talent such as 'Be By Myself,' 'As I Em,' and 'Lark on my Go-Kart.'  There were some mediocre songs on the album and it can get boring as well, I'm not even that big of a fan of it at all but I feel like Asher's grown alot since this effort, lyrically and content-wise.  It seems as if he's finding his place as a rapper and growing up.  His recent guest verses have been very impressive:

He turned in possibly the best verse on the "I'm Beaming (All City Chess Club Remix)"

He gave a really catchy and fun verse on Game's "White Soft Porn," and in my opinion had the best verse onthe song...

Him and B.o.B spit really well going back and forth over a sick Kanye beat on "Fuck the Money"

His verse on Luke Christophers song "Rooftops" is really good too...

Aside from his guest verses, his projects have been very on point lately and I love the fact that he has taken more of a feel good route in his music, which is rarely taken in Rap.  I feel like people write him off because he's white and NOT Eminem.  Seared Foie Gras with Quince and Cranberry was definitely one of the better mixtapes of last year... Tracks like 'Con-Fid-Ence,' 'Sour Patch Kids (Remix)' with Blu and Talib Kweli, 'Muddy Swim Trunks,' 'Fuck the Money' 'I'm Eddy', and 'Toni Braxton' were standouts. But I feel like his best project recently was his collaboration EP with Nottz Raw, the "Rawth EP."  Every song on it is really good and the beats and lyrics are fire. It's also a breath of fresh air from typical rap.

"Enforce the Law" - Hard beat and sick lyrics from Nottz and Roth both.

"Don'tcha Wanna Be? (My Neighbor)"

"Gotta Get Up"

I can't wait to see what Asher has in store for his Sophomore effort and I think he'll surprise alot of y'all who have been sleeping on him. And if this single is anything like the album's gonna be then it has great potential...

I've been listening to his last mixtape over the past few days, and he is underrated as hell. I guess it kind of makes sense, he made crappy college party album and then once that got out of the spotlight he actually started rhyming.

But yeah, Seared Foie Gras was one of the best tapes of last year. RAWTH was ill too.
