Ok im working on making a school hoodie and im in a creative slump right now i cant think of anything all i have so far is this

Can anyone help me come up with some ideas? Heres some info: school name Hermitage high, school colors blue and red, mascot panther, my class class of 2012 right now any ideas at all will be appreciated just trying to get out of this creative slump. Oh and the hoodies will be grey pullovers.

are you specifically looking for some whimsical tag line? like "peace bitches - class of 2011"

or something more conservative

actually, you know what helps, is looking at other designs from other schools or designers and picking out what you don't like. Then you'll have a better idea of what you do like and can start playing around.

Yeah i've been trying that and don't really see anything I like and not really looking for anything whimsical but then again not looking for anything to plain.

i used illustrator i took the lazy way out and used live trace. i have photoshop but i dont use it lol. Illustrator is your best bet. i just looked and that e is crooked lol

Haha I didn't notice that at first until you pointed it out and how is illustrator different from photoshop?

uh i cant really explain but if your gonna do graphic design i would suggest that. Its basically away for you to create from scratch and photoshop is a photo editor.

Illustrator is defiantly way better but its going to take some getting used to its really confusing for me. Im just trying to do some simple things with the design you gave me and its so much harder than it should be.

My ***** I always wanted to do something like this.... Ummm I will whip something up in Photoshop just give me
School Name
School Colors
Year School Opened
and what cant you do.. Meaning can logos be on the back or sides.... or anything like that

All thanks go to T.A. for the picture and for telling me about the greatness which is Illustrator trying to learn how to use illustrator so I can do a few thinks to it then im getting graphics at my school to press a hoodie for me.

Looks great. Just make the text arc because it looks akward the way it is now and add some space between the text and head. Great overall though.

Yeah Im trying to separate the text now and straighten it up a little then above the panther im going to put class of 2012 and under the claw im going to put panthers... if I can figure this dam illustrator out.

Ok so last night I was trying to move the E and I did it but it was in black and white and I couldn't insert the color back so I just started over and used a color live trace then no matter how hard I tried I could not cut the E from the rest of the picture while it was in color any tips for this?

when doing the text, use the type on a path option.

Yeah I know that now but my problem is all of the text is connected to the rest of the picture and I cant separate it.

so u can't click on the text? like is there not a bounding box around it or anything when u clikc on it?

Ill post a pic of what im talking about in a second.

See if i click just the E or any letter for that matter the whole thing is selected And if i try to cut the letters out with the knife tool while in color it still doesn't work.
