Clams Casino is (probably) most notable for his work with A$AP Rocky and Lil B, but his production on these two Mac songs are un-fucking-real:


In a way, this track served as a sort of transistion from the feel-good positivity Miller was known for (a sound I’m completely comfortable in saying Mac perfected) to the darker, more ominous experimentation he delved into with projects like Macadelic. “One Last Thing” has no business being on Blue Slide Park and that’s why I adore it, have it as my favorite Mac Miller song of all time.

And then there’s “Angels”:


There’s not much to say since this track speaks for itself almost completely. It’s flawless. The hook :damn:

I was put onto these songs by a friend years ago and had to contact him to thank him for that yesterday. They weren’t my introduction to Mac, but they solidified his range of talent to me once I heard them. Losing someone so capable of mastering so many styles is going to forever hurt music, not just rap. I hope he understood his impact. R.I.P.
