2011 was the last year YMCMB had full control of the game

2011 had immense hype for both Wayne and Drake to deliver amazing albums, Wayne would be following up his classic Carter 3, and Drake would be demonstrating his improvement as an artist after peaking on the pop charts with his earlier successes. Nicki had finished releasing her debut and was now a superstar thanks to her smash hit "Superbass"

However since C4 wasn't what people wanted/expected it showed a weakness in what was once the impenetrable lock that YMCMB had on the game.

Ever since that day Lil Wayne has limped on as a solo artist relying on the successes of Nicki and Drake to carry him.

2012 is the year MMG took over if we are being honest, Rick Ross and Meek Mill released easily the hottest projects that year with Rich Forever and DC2, and if GFID had managed to live up to the hype Ross would've kept his hold on the game well into 2013.

2013 is a strange year, its a year that many big names fought for control, Kendrick was definitely a contender with his album and his "control" verse, but I feel like as a whole Drake controlled 2013 with his constant fire features and verses all culminating with the release of his timeless classic "Nothing Was The Same."

Kendrick was hot but sorta fizzled out towards the end of the year which is why I feel like he really shouldn't be considered the one who controlled 2013.
