The og version was a series? Or was it edited for Netflix?

If so I'm curious if anyone has a link.

I think the problem for me was the voice over and clips in the beginning of each episode.

uhhhh I'd say my favourite british show of all time is prolly this is england. it's a miniseries continuation of a film (also called this is england, set in 1983)

the series is split into 3, this is england 86, this is england 88 and this is england 90, each series 3 or 4 episodes long. **** is epic, kitchen sink coming of age kinda show that's just real af and not really like anything else

also, catastrophe is funny af and has carrie fisher's last filmed role (on amazon in america i think). rob delaney and sharon horgan

also also, flowers i hear was good. 5 part miniseries about a depressed family.

i thought I'd forgotten them all and now more are coming lol

people just do nothing (mockumentary about pirate radio)
bluestone 42 (comedy set in afghanistan)
fleabag (fourth wall breaking comedy w a dark side)
phoneshop (sketchlike comedy set in a phoneshop lol)

we really be doin ****

we don't have even close to the same amount of money behind our shows. the bbc is publicly funded and accountable for what they produce (every household that watches live tv has to pay 140 a year)

channel 4 is commercially funded but publicly owned (all its profits go back into the programming but it's still not a huge corporation)

so yeah, money and i think also it attracts better talent to not tie people down to hella episodes. america seems to be taking note, with how much shorter you lot's shows are getting (and how much longer between seasons it's taking for a lot of shows)

another factor is a lot of uk shows are written by one or a couple of people, not writer's rooms, so it becomes a thing of necessity to have fewer episodes
