Thoughts on the series?

Janelle and Lupe really stood out in the interviews.

Wish it was longer. Yeah they did. I thought Estelle was good too though. Lu seemed like the guy who was just chill but when it talked it was always really interesting.

Estelle was lookin' good. :smug:  Janelle Monae was too.
Lu and B.o.B was lookin' fresh.
They all represented well, I'd say.

Atlantic Records is such a joke.

‎"We started Atlantic because we wanted to sign a few artists whose music we liked, and make the kind of records we would want to buy." .... Yeahhhhh.... Really, Atlantic? -____-

I'd bet you anything these are the four artists most hated by the label executives.

B.o.B?...

For quite some time, he didn't break... It's 'cause his debut album kept on getting pushed back and he kept on getting flack.

Oh I didn't know that. Wow they do this to everyone. I mean, I knew it was bad even with other artists, but I thought B.o.B just gave it. Then you got Saigon and I'm sure countless others. Is it safe to say they're the worst label? I don't really know much about any others though.

Damn, I had no idea D: I do enjoy the album, but I wonder how it would of sounded if BoB didn't give in to Atlantic's demands?

Yeah, the album was slated to come out in early 2009, but kept getting delayed and fans was gettin' upset.
What happened to Saigon is the worst.  Dude nearly went crazy over it.  The Greatest Story Never Told was due in 2005.  It's just now dropping, nearly six years later.

And while this kind of junk goes on at every label (remember Nas' letter to Def Jam and Q-Tip's struggle to get The Abstraact out?), Atlantic is by far the one who's gettin' the most notorious for it.

And, oh, I honestly think the album would more-or-less be the same.  I'd say 75% the same.  Nothin' on You, Airplanes, and Magic seem to be the most obvious label-driven tracks.

Never Forget You
Your mind is on Lupe lmao.

But Saigon's situation
My email from middle school is "saigontheyardfather" lol. Yeah I loved him waaaayyy back, then completely forgot about him after getting frustrated his album would never come out, and now he returns lol. And with a great album too. But yeah, hopefully new artists don't sign to Atlantic, and maybe they'll crash & burn.
