This is going to be a little ****y but I don't like how the 3DS label is on the right side of the case. It's ****ing my mind right now. The friend code thing seems improved but it's still going to be annoying if both people have to add each other. They need to ditch the social security looking bull**** and just use tags and when you end someone a request they can accept it. SIMPLE ****ING SOLUTION. |

So, I played on it. Nintendo staff, like I expected, were very stubborn about picture taking so I have none of the system itself which is a shame as the device is beautiful, nicely weighted and very nice to look at. The sliding joystick is a joy to use and works very well with all games. That aside, I had a go on pretty much everything the system had to offer. The event itself was also pretty cool. They had actors who portrayed characters (Ryu and Ken) from Street Fighter and act out a fight. Next, in the "experience" was two actors who portrayed Chris and Jill from the Resident Evil games and led us through this dark room filled with zombies, pretty weird but cool. Afterwards, we waited in a room were a video played of Jonathan Ross introducing us to the 3DS and told us that "we were among the first in the world to play on it". Following that we were let loose on the systems. About 30-40 systems in this room and we get to play the games. The first game I played was Kid Icarus, which was in itself very cool. Even if I was allowed to take pictures it wouldn't of done any justice to how cool the 3D was in this game. The game itself is really cool. I've never played Kid Icarus in my life but it was really really cool. I had some issues with the 3D in that the screen kind of blurred when you moved the system about. This was also evident whilst playing Super Monkey Ball 3D and the augmented reality games on it as well. However, it didn't at all affect the experience. Graphically though, Kid Icarus wasn't really as good as a few other games I played and I think they could've used the gyroscope to move the cross-hair instead of the stylus to aim. Just a minor problem I had though. Next, Resident Evil 3D. This is awesome. Like really awesome and I am saying that as an NGP/Sony Lover. Graphically, I was shocked. As I thought I was playing on a PSP for a minute, especially on games like Pro Evo 3D. This again used the stupid stylus to control the cross-hair when I feel the gyroscope could've been used in it's place. I only briefly played this title as I wanted to play everything. Pro Evo, was as mentioned above, simply awesome. Graphically, the N3DS really has stepped up and it's a lot sharper than it's predecessors. I even had to check that the auto-stereoscopic 3D wasn't just doing some trickery by switching it off...and with it off it was, as sharp as the current PSP. Now the joystick really makes playing a football game such a pleasure to play on a Nintendo system. Better than the 4-way buttons of the current crop of DS's. I played more games than this but I don't want to hog this thread. The augmented really is truly awesome. I told one the pretty girls there....that it really is amazing what they are able to do now with technology. The mere fact that the system can recognize a game card (of which 5-6 will be provided with the system) and place 3D images on-screen is, to me anyway, amazing. The Mii feature is cool and fun. Take and image of yourself and it will generate a Mii for you. Mine looked really cool and I was able to take an image of my face, place it in a Arcade game that I assume will be pre-loaded on the system and it alters the face accordingly. I was told that further down the line that Sky will be broadcasting through a Channel on the system by one of the staff but whether they are right or not remains to be seen. It happened on the iPhone/iPad so it may just happen through a channel on this device. 3D on a standard def device like this is watchable, it's blurry in some instances but watchable. Overall, the system has matured and regardless of what anyone says, myself included as a Sony stan, this system is going to proof very lucrative for Nintendo come launch day, but everyone already knew that. The stylus feels a lot sturdier than previous ones, both the screen are very nice to look at, the system is very streamlined and I like the idea of the "Home, Start and Select" buttons below the bottom screen. The 3D really has to be seen to be believed. It is very good if looked at directly...sway to the left or right a little and it looses it's 'wow-ness' somewhat. Changing the depth on the fly is awesome. This system is just awesome, not gimmicky in the slightest and just does gaming very well...so go pre-order one & we'll leave it at that. I'll up some images later on and any questions about it and i'll try and answer it for you as best as I can. |

Its probably just me, but I never liked the design of the DS. No shots at all, but it always seemed to have a feminine look to me.

Nvm, found my answer. The screens are smaller but the screens have a much greater pixel density than the dsi xl. Check the chart on the wikipedia link I posted in the OP |

If the screens were the size of the DSi XL screens this thing would overheat in about three minutes.

Capcom has gotten a demo of RE5 to run on the 3DS ![]() SSFIV interview (this article better explains RE5 being run on the 3DS) "We definitely haven’t forgotten about those guys; there’s a mode in the game called “Pro Mode” that allows you to turn off entirely the shortcut buttons and be matched online with other Pro Mode players." I simply can't get over how amazing this device is. I wish they'd bring auto-stereoscopic 3D to television sets further down the line.

It sure has some potential if Capcom's already found ways to get Resident Evil 5 running on it.
