Certainly recommend and commend your Wipeout 2048 decision. Dope ass game, and even better if you get the HD/Fury DLC. MGS HD, LittleBigPlanet Vita whenever the hell that comes out (beta is sweet).

I don't fully understand the whole Wipeout cross play thing, I own the game and DLC on my PS3 but I can't transfer the game to the Vita right?  I need to buy the Vita version of Wipeout for cross play to happen is what I'm thinking.

Was invite only. Checked my email one day and had a code and was like SCORE!

If you have Wipeout HD for PS3, and go look on the store, there are new download packs that allow you to download basically all of the content that is on HD, to 2048. Same goes for the Fury DLC. I can confirm this as I had HD/Fury and this past Tuesday I went on the store and it was free ~500mb. I think it works the other way around too, if you have 2048 and not HD.

For Cross Play, as in actual play and not cross content, you can just play with other players on the VS console. If you're on PS3, you can play with PS3 and Vita players, if you're on Vita, you can play with Vita and PS3 players.

I don't know if I'll ever cop 2048, HD is a good game but the low racer count/speed of the vehicles and the narrow levels kinda kill it for me.  I heard 2048 goes and feels a little faster idk

I dunno. HD on A class speed felt like ape **** speed compared to 2048 as a whole. I picked up 2048 for $20 at Walmart last month tho, and for that, is a damn good price.
