I was online from the entire thing, since the minute he posted it, so I made a summary for anyone who is lost.
I'm not taking sides here, I'm just summarizing what happened.</sub>

CHAPTER 1: THE BEGINNING

On Sunday night (Feb 3, 2013)
A new user named XXXXXX created a thread called “Rich Black American 09|24|2013”
This is what the OP was:

The thread went nowhere and was locked after a few responses.
The album cover by the way is a painting by Da Vinci, which people later discovered.

CHAPTER 2: CRYPTIC POSTS

In the Sixth Studio Album Thread on Page 398, things get interesting.
Out of nowhere, XXXXXX posts these:

The rest of page 398 = confusion. At the top of page 399, I posted the 92413KWPT... code and tried to solve it.
This is what we have:

After I asked him if BKR meant Big KRIT and Rihanna, he responded "Beyonce Knowles and Rihanna", confirming that these were artists.
User PUFFYCOMBS. asked, "why haven't you dropped any videos/songs/nothing from o.p. yet"
XXXXXX immediately responded with "I will try to drop one song by Friday."
Note that there were already rumors that Travi$ was dropping a song on Friday.
Anyways, XXXXXX was not logged on for a while after that.

CHAPTER 3: ACCOUNT DETAILS

What's interesting about XXXXXX is these two things:
  -the XXXXXX account's IP does not match another KTT account's IP.
  -the XXXXXX account's IP was in France, where Kanye's team supposedly is.
A rumor floated around that the IP was in the middle east, but this was a joke.

CHAPTER 4: SOLVING RIDDLES

Many people speculated several things, such as what "XXXXXX" stood for.
Many guessed "Kanye W" "Pusha T" and mainly "Travi$" because he is rumored to drop a song on Friday.
There were also a number of joke guesses among those. In fact usually those were joke guesses.

Many also guessed what "26 1 172" meant.

I posted this:

26 songs

1 album

172 minutes

XXXXXX responded, out of nowhere:
"Almost got it."

XXXXXX quoted a user named STERLING that said "Popular will be released because it was before a beat but now an actual finalized song."

XXXXXX also quoted these posts, implying they were true:

26 songs
1 film
172 minutes (just under 3 hours)

26 songs is a lot.
2 discs?

plus a film disc?

When Cole asked what the first single would be like, XXXXXX responded:

CHAPTER 5: EXPOSED!

In this very thread, an admin posted:

XXXXXX broke character and posted in a thread called "Pros and Cons of Meth" and then quickly deleted his post.

XXXXXX quickly deleted the post but an admin found it. He also said that XXXXXX was using a proxy.

A KTT admin speculated that the user "MC" was responsible for the trolling.

CHAPTER 6: FINALE

A KTT admin confirmed that MC was behind XXXXXX. Saying this:

I checked user agent strings in the database and found about 20 sessions with a matching string. About half of the users were recently active. Then I just looked through posts and his posts matched the writing style of one of them: MC. I was pretty sure it was him. There was more involved but that's interweb detective secrets
Then the final confirmation: he posts the link to a Twitter... the same Twitter I found from MC's account

The truth was revealed.
