The Raid: Redemption - 10/10

The best action movie I've seen since The Matrix. It was relentless, not a second to catch your breath. Maybe in the first ten minutes, it sorta establishes the characters but once the ball starts rolling, it never stops. The story was simplistic at heart, and may have lacked a strong lead character that we could just attach to (minus the rookie), but I think it's point was for us to follow the entire team as a whole instead of individuals. About the action: Balls-to-the-walls, gritty, violent, pulpy, mindblowing insanity (especially the climax, which left my jaw hanging after the credits rolled). There's really some genuinely clever kills that'll make any fan of Modern Warfare foam at the mouth. The soundtrack was brilliant, Shinoda brought the storm with some hard-hitting production work. The dialogue could've been tweaked at points, but other than that, it was just guns blazing, knife fights, and sick martial arts the whole way. I'm not one to give 10/10 ratings, but this just left me stumped.

I though it would be dumb, but liked it.

7/10. Liked it better than the others. The ending was stupid but the movie had me on edge the whole time. In saying that though, I'm a **** when it comes to these kinds of films.
