I'm assuming with that statement that Blood Sugar Sex Magik doesn't count as purely mainstream btw. It is my favourite Chilis album.

any word on the new album?

Got me into guitar music, specifically with By The Way (the album). Stadium Arcadium remains the most anticipated album of my life so far, just about defeating Graduation and MBDTF.

Frusciante is the greatest guitarist alive today, yeah I said it. Not really feeling a new Chilis album without him if I'm honest. I'll certainly be checking it out, but I realised over time that I was really a Frusciante fan rather than a fan of the band.
