Maybe it is me, but Kanye said he listened to Ross for inspiration. He had him on 2 cameos on his last solo record. I think it is obvious that Ross has undeniable charisma for Jay Z,Lil wayne, TI, Drake, *name that emcee/artist*, who reached out to collaborate.

That is enough for me to know that Ross has proven his worth in Hip Hop. I don't care if he is a goat or not. Life is too short to worry about "Best of" lists.

That is why Ross gets the attention he does. Many heavy set plus people on this world have a hard time walking to the store to buy a ice tea. But Ross has beat the odds w/ his ability to constantly be working & taking on other projects. He has the stamina & strength to walk around this damn globe. You try it sometime, put some sandbags around your waist, (About extra lbs) and see how you adapt to it.  Let's put it this way:

In order for your favorite artists to keep doing what they want to do, they need fuel for inspiration & energy. Whether the hip hop community wants to admit it or not, Ross inspires others to work harder & stay in for a career not just  a track or one cd. That is enough for Ross to be remembered.
