You used what we call a logic fallacy. Your statements "Americans truly are dumb" and "Its amazing how easily Americans can be fooled" based on one instance in a classroom that happened to be full of American children.

I'll now break down the errors in your thought process:

Error 1. A group of kids were given options, the kids chose an incorrect option. The kids are American. Because these kids chose incorrectly, they are dumb, and because they were also American, Americans are dumb.
False. By this logic, I could pick a group of 20 people and ask them a question. If they get it wrong, they are dumb, and whatever nationality this group is a part of is also dumb.

Error 2: These kids were manipulated, these kids are american, therefore Americans are easily manipulated
False. Using this logic, anyone from any country who's ever been manipulated represents any other member of their country when it comes to the susceptibility of being manipulated.

You can see how foolish your logic appears. when broken down to fundamental levels.
