Yes and no. You can get a professional sound from FL, but its a pain in the ass, and it would be easier on both you and your computer if you used pro tools. PT has better plugins by default and it doesn't needlessly **** your CPU like FL studio does.

Of course the sheep here will try to argue that FL is just as good as PT.

If you think in terms of analogies, you have a Civic and a Mercedes SL63. You can win a race with both cars, but you have to do a hell of alot of work on the Civic in order to compete with that Benz. You can get a civic and do all that extra work, or you can get the Mercedes. I don't think I need to tell you which is which.

ok but do you recommend using fl studio to sequence or can pro tools do it better?

i find fl studio easy to make patterns but when i mix the sounds it doesnt have that pro sound like lex or southside and those guys use fl studio so i prolly just suck ass lol

I mean, FL studio is better for actual beat making in my opinion, however, Pro Tools is better for mix and mastering. That being said, if you can't mix and master in FL Studio, you can't do so in PT. You still have to know what you're doing.

Going back to the analogy, if you can't drive a Civic, then chances are, you can't drive a Benz. The advantages become apparent once you know what to look for and how to use it.

Depends. Its all on your style.

For instance, I make jazzier styled music, usually R&B, neo-soul, some pop ballads, and the occasional hip hop beat. While this type of music is techincally more advanced than lets say a trap beat, I would still find a trap beat harder to make because it's not my style; i wouldnt know where to start.

So yeah, it depends. I say make music, and then figure out what genre it is later. At least in the beginning.
