i think i recall nintendo/hal/someone saying that they'd never put in manga/anime characters into smash. only characters that originated from a video game.

and as much as i'd love to see a naruto or some similar character, smash just probably isn't the right place. this IS a nintendo game at the end of the day, can't stray too far away from that. and expecting more than 10 (being generous with this number just in case) third party characters this time around is crazy. just getting snake and sonic in brawl was a stretch.

if we get more third parties, i think people hoping for more sonic, MGS, or multiple characters from any one third party franchise should lower expectations tbh. having them in the game in the first place is a treat, so it makes sense that only the most prominent character from the franchise is present, like sonic and snake
