I don't get why people have this Microsoft vs Apple war going on. I don't see why its unreasonable to have products from both companies.

Runs Windows 8 (Obviously :oblivious:)
Two version: One ARM, one x86 with the full Windows desktop
The x86 Intel version has a higher resolution display
Intel version has perimeter venting, so you never have to worry about blocking it
A bunch of Android fags were telling me that none of these will be able to run full windows but isnt that the point of the Intel one? Also they said that the ARM one won't be running Windows 8 someone was talking about Windows RT that will run like windows mobile for tablets.
Just though I would ask you on your thoughts of what I was being told.

The cheaper version is an ARM tablet, and operates just like iOS/Android. You download all of your stuff through an app store. The desktop is still available, but the only apps for it are Internet Explorer, Explorer, and Office. This version is called WinRT, but most people will just refer to it as Windows 8.

The more expensive version is an x86 tablet, and essentially combines a tablet and an ultrabook. You get the same stuff as the ARM version, but also have the ability to download apps for the desktop. This is the full version of Windows 8.

Oh ok got it I had no idea how they were gonna deal with the whole ARM CPU support thing this idea makes sense and I was guessing that the intel one would just be a normal pc. Also I think that they should keep the price on this tablet low (like $500) and it should do well imo.

They put a MacBook inside an iPad, and a keyboard+mouse inside the iPad cover, and it works as both. :wom:
Really?

Damn. This might actually be worth buying in the future.

Yup. The RT version will be out at or around the release of Windows 8, while the Pro version won't be out until the first quarter of 2013.

This actually has me excited for a tablet. Getting sick of these half assed ones barely even making a dent in iPads sales.

It's releasing on October 26th, the same day as Windows 8. Still no word on pricing.
