Depends what kind of bag you want but i really like the military bags on Asos.com, good bag space and quite comfortable on the back.

plain Jansport backpacks are always the way to go

I dont get the "herschels played out" "herschels too popular" stuff, i was the only one at my school of 1200+ with one, and i got about a million compliments.
Id def go herschel, im getting another for next year. I loved mine.
