This is for everyone on KTT who plays minecraft. First things we need to find a server. I know a server we could use, but it's not mine or a friends it's just the one given when i downloaded the torrent. So if anyone has a server or their friend does, that would be great to use.

Minecraft Server Tutorial (EASY)

1. Download server from Minecraft Downloads Page (or just click here )
2. Make a "Minecraft Server" folder on Desktop, and put the server file there.
3. Open the server, and let it run through all its processes.
4. When it is done, type stop into the box and hit Enter.
5. Go to "Minecraft Server" folder. There should be new files there.
6. Open ops file in Notepad, and type the Minecraft usernames of all who will be using your server in that file. You can add more at any point in time. Save when done.
7. Go back to the server folder. Open the server file. (Make sure it is the PROPERTIES file.) Edit the server's properties like max number of players allowed and the message of the day, for example. Save when done.
8. Go to your internet browser and go to iP Chicken. Write your IP address on a sheet of paper for later.
9. Go to the Start Menu, and type in cmd. Hit Enter. This should open the Command Prompt. In cmd, type ipconfig. Hit enter. Write down your Default Gateway IP address and your IPv4 address.
10. Go to your internet browser. Type in the Default Gateway you just wrote down in the address bar. Hit enter. This should ask you to type in your Username and Password for your router. Type them in. Login.
11. Find the Single Port Forwarding options for your router.
12. Make a new port, type in the server name ("Minecraft Server," for example), the number 25565 in BOTH the External and Internal Ports, (otherwise known as "Starting" and "Ending" ports), and your IPv4 address (192.168.1.xyz)
13. Enable and save the port.
14. Run your server again.
15. Open Minecraft.
16. Go to Multiplayer.
17. Click on Add Server.
18. Name your server ("Minecraft Server", for example.)
19. Enter in the IP address you wrote down from iP Chicken into the Server Adress.
20. Hit Done.
21. Congratulations! You just made your Minecraft Server. You may now use and share your server with your friends.

Damn I used to have a server set up, does anyone know how/want to run a server? We should get a server that allows cracked clients so people who don't want to drop money on the game can play too.

Just played for my first time. Spawned on a small deserted island. Many islands somewhere in the distance. Trying to survive is impossible because all there is is wood, sand, and dirt. I built a small house with a large chest, a crafting table, and two furnaces. I dont have any light, however, because after digging deep into the island I still could not find coal, and I couldn't go too deep or etting out would be impossible as I have no ladders and I was just making a "stairway" as i descended. I might restart but I might try and survive, make a boat, and sail to a bigger island with caves and things.

But damn this is fun, I will definitely play in a server with you guys after I get more used to everything and learn all the basics of the game.

I know somebody gotta have the 360 version.
