try playing gen 1 (red and blue), with all of the bugs, the broken combat system (remember ghost type not working), the wide variety of glitches, and sprites that didn't match the official artwork. only good thing about it is nostalgia and better vendor trash/usable ratio

fire red and leaf green are great though, but still has the **** atk/spatk split

Don't forget Psychic type Pokemon literally dominating every other type, or critical hits being tied to how fast your Pokemon is. :bye:

Never played Pikmin before, after seeing it at E3 I wanted to play it.

****'s amazing, I've been playing for ages and I'm not bored at all.

Would recommend to anyone.

And perma-wrap/clamp/spin

And perma-frozen

And Chansey in general

Gold and Silver haven't aged that poorly. Both are lacking the latest games new features, but you still get a fully fleshed RPG that improved upon the originals.

Red/Blue/Yellow, however, are almost painful to play.

They literally don't do a single thing better than HG/SS though. I just can't say a game's "aged" well when they're able to remake the game and do everything better. Usually an original winds up holding some decent factor over its remakes, but with pokemon there's just nothing. The only upside to them is that you can play them at a higher speed on an emulator lol.

The only ghost type Pokemon in the game is 4x weak to Psychic type attacks, and has no ghost type attacks of its own.

The only Bug type move is Twinneedle, which only does around 50-60 damage, and is only learned by Beedrill (:hah:).

Alakazam has insanely high speed and Special, allowing it to do huge amounts of damage to almost any Pokemon while scoring reliable critical hits.

The battling system, the main component of Pokemon, being busted in Red and Blue meant nothing to you? What about the 20 item inventory limit? The lack of content compared to all later games? What aspects of Red and Blue hold up well today, especially in light of FireRed and LeafGreen?

Sonic games tbh
Sonic games as in Sonic 1, 2, and 3? Absolutely not. Those are still more well-crafted and complete games than today's Sonic games and are still in the hierarchy of the games back then.
