As for classic I don't know, and it's pretty new but I'm going to say MarioKart Wii. **** was awesome when it came out but now... Compared to other games, I notice the full on lag when 4 players are racing and let's face it... We play it for the multiplayer. Controls are wack as **** too.

Street Fighter 2 (and all of it's versions)

I know a lot of people who still play sf2 because they hate the super meters that were added to later versions, but i understand what your saying.

Thought this would be an interesting topic and I'm interested to see peoples answers:

Have you ever revisited a game you considered classic, and after playing it thought to yourself that the gameplay mechanics of the game were so outdated by today's standards that it affected the enjoyment you get and originally got from the game? In short, what classic games do you think haven't aged well?

I'll start:

The Legacy of Kain series. Had some dope ass stories, but the gameplay was even generic for it's time, and doesn't hold up too well today.

Some of the earlier 3D fighting titles such as Tekken 1-2, Virtua Fighter, Soul Calibur 1, etc. just felt awkward as hell to play. I kinda expected this.

Crash 1. Poor controls and it's sequels simply did everything better. No reason to play it.

Goldeneye was the biggest offense of this. Just felt clunky and unrewarding.

Street Fighter 2 (and all of it's versions)

I can't think of any more right now but I'll definitely think of some.

I'll agree w/ Crash 1, 2 and Warped were and still are really fun to play. In regards to SF2, I can agree, because I end up going back and playing the Alpha series a lot more often.

I agree. People reference the Generation I Pokemon as their favorite all the time, and I 100% think that as well as the nostalgia glasses are clouding their memories. I remember issues with that game while I was playing it, and those issues (which are more than the ones on the image we posted) became even more glaring every time a new game comes out. I can't even play the originals anymore, really, because all the things that seem so simple in the games from Generation II on aren't present in Red and Blue.

I'm NOT saying it's a bad game. I can't say that because all Pokemon games are the same. I'm just saying it's almost a beta version of an actual Pokemon game when you look back at it... and I'm not comparing it to Generation V's Black and White; I'm just comparing it to Generation II's Gold, Silver, and Crystal.

I mean, Pokemon Red and Blue have so many different glitches they're almost more famous for what you can do by glitching the game than the actual game (MissingNo., Mew, etc.), and for the most part, people abandoned the newer games because they think it'll make them less cool or something, so I would agree that they're more in love with the actual Pokemon, not the Pokemon game.

It's the game that basically let us know what the 7th generation of consoles were actually capable of. It's definitely going to be looked at as a classic down the road.

There's literally nothing GoW2 does better than GoW1. Everything GoW2 has over GoW1 is an "addition", not an actual improvement of an aspect of the game or its game mechanics.

Cover system was greatly improved
New guns added a lot to multiplayer
The different types of locust add a lot to campaign and horde
A lot more variety in terms of levels and maps
