Kanye had an easy classic with MBDTF, but out of 11 tracks of actual music, only 3 of them were all Kanye...

Even though I didn't care for two tracks, 9 out of 11 still warrants Classic status, but WAY too many features...

Automatically relegated to "near-classic" status...

The Roots sometimes have quite a few features on their albums. Like HIGO if I'm not mistaken. HIGO was a classic.

This was way too long. If he cut it down to like 12/13 tracks it could've been straight cocaine. No tracks were really weak, but when an album is so long it becomes tedious and some tracks, even though they are strong, just come across like filler since they seem weak compared to the rest of the album.

In all seriousness an album with too much hype will not be a classic. There are some exceptions but in most cases when you stay thirsty for an album to drop, the hype builds up so much that when it does drop, no matter how dope it is, the hype will always be greater.

i already think MBDTF is a classic. Rihanna was bearable on AOTL because i can't really think of another artist who would have been suitable for that hook, while also maintaining mainstream popularity. Fergie has no business on the bridge and imo drake leaked verse would have been perfect in that spot instead of that washed up chick. but whatever, DIAND >>>>>> Ross on DIAND >>>>>

So what things could just stop someone from calling an album 'classic' without even listening to it (Just looking at the tracklist, interviews and such).
