Lupe Fiasco Presents The Intro To “Food & Liquor II”


Breakdown of Intro

Now as I wander through the city going mad,
I see the fruits of planting evidence instead of grass,
-Lupe is walking through the city, lets say Chicago, and sees nothing but corruption of people planting evidence to frame others. Instead of people planting grass in a city full of concrete.

A swindled generation with no patience full of swag,
-Today's youth is almost brain washed to believe that the only importance thing in life is have swag. And they want it now, even if they are just little kids. Everybody these days wants to start doing adult things now. People are losing their innocence.

Man they so impatient with the stations that they have,
-refers to my breakdown before, impatient. And the stations (Radio and television) portrays this life of swag as the only "cool" way to live. I also think he is talking to the Lu Stans in a way. We are impatient for Lupe's music and we keep demanding it and demanding it b/c in fact he's the one of the few that is providing substance. The radio station keeps us hungry for this substance because the music they play is just plain stupid.

As long as they look good when they be doin' bad,
-play on words here. these people are wearing expensive clothes and jewelry while they do these negative things that are glamorized by the media. It also means people buying expensive stuff that they can't really afford, because they're doing "bad" in terms of their money situation.

And the separation from the truth is getting vast, fast
-the truth is no longer black and white anymore. Everyone is becoming corrupted with greed so who can you trust to get truths? the radio? the magazines? the tv? websites?

Be a slave at first or free at... last,
-another play on words. everyone is born a slave. think to back when you were a kid, they fed you lies of Santa being real and every commercial in between cartoons had you wanting their product. Eventually, we learn and become aware and are "Free at last" - MLK Jr.
 
Double edged choices make a nigga wanna pass,
-Personally, I think this is how the media portrays elections as a horse race. They make you choose between McCain vs Obama, Republicans vs Democrats, Conservatives vs. Liberals. Why should we try and choose the lesser of two evils, so instead Lupe decides he'll pass. (i agree)

Double headed voices of the eagle on the staff
-The eagle is on top of the American flag staff. the double headed refers to the previous breakdown line.

The pyramid with eyes will split the spirited in half,
-Spiritual people believe in God and the Devil. but the illuminati is for the people who have chosen the Devil over God. (I could be wrong about this)

Divided over money, delighted by the dummy(dumb-ing),
-People have become divided because of money and the need for it. The elites enjoy profiting off of the uneducated by controlling their lives as if it were a game.
 
And down of the importance of crowns we'll never have,
-We won't have a king but we have elites that try to influence are lives. They consider themselves kings

-Lupe is going to speak out against all of this and be upfront about it. Baptize your mind means to cleanse your mind from all impurities, or corruption, or confusion and become aware

Does anyone think Lupe will do a version 2 of any song from FNL 1 ???? Like Daydreamnin 2 or Emperor's Soundtrack 2 or .... He already had Kick Push 2 on the same album so maybe a Kick Push 3???? Thoughts?

but i have my own lil theory that MYH somehow takes the gun from the kids n goes on a hunt for The Game, The Streets n the killer/traitor from "The Die" cuz remember Lupe said, "they figured that he wasnt from there, so they pulled out n robbed him wit the same gun they shot him wit.." at the end of "The Cool"..

also, at the end of "Mean & Vicious", Lupe says "got that FNF on me, ima young lil Thriller, i will resurrect homie, come back for my killer, IN SOME DESHOVELED APPAREL WIT THAT SAME LEAKIN BARRELL, ITS OONNN!!"

so i put 2 n 2 together n came up wit my own lil theory of wat the next part of the story might be..
