any news on Animal Collective?

I heard the unmastered version of the album. It's freakin' epic. The guys just figured out a title and it's getting mastered next month most likely. No word from Domino on when it will be released.

When I say "most likely" it means that by this time next month a mastering house will be in possesion of the album, and thus will be awaiting mastering. Mastering houses are usually incredibly picky and organized, so it may take a whole other month before they get the job done, since they must have a bunch of releases on their list before the AC album. For example, I remember listening to the unmastered version of The National's "High Violet" in February 2010, and the album was sent out the same month. However, mastering was not done until early April and the album was released in May.

Basically, if Domino knows what's good for them and want to release the album anytime soon, an August/September release seems completely likely at this point. If that's the case, I would even bet that the album is gonna be released the same week as Grizzly Bear's new one just for label competition. Or at least the same month, anyway.

I feel like I'm the only person that didn't like Person Pitch. I did kind of like Tomboy though.

Anyone else excited for the new The Very Best album? The single (and video) is awesome and those guys never release a truly bad effort. This is going to be a great album for the warm summer days.
